This aspiration is all about being creative and is an awesome way to make money while working through it by selling your paintings.
Traits That Help With The Painter Extraordinaire Aspiration
The creative trait is going to give sims random inspired moodlets and they’ll be inspired more often than a regular sim. This will help them gain their painting skill more quickly and can help them craft better quality works of art.
A sim who has the perfectionist trait is going to take a little longer to finish their paintings but they are going to be higher quality more often so this is a good one to finish this aspiration.
Creative Visionary Reward Store Trait
Throughout this aspiration, your sim is going to need to make some high quality art and this can take some time. If you have enough satisfaction points your sim can purchase the creative visionary reward store trait that will make them create higher quality work more often.
Reward Trait for the Painter Extraordinaire Aspiration
When your sim finishes the painter extraordinaire aspiration they will be given the expressionistic reward trait. This allows your sim to always create emotional work without having to be feeling that emotion.
This can be helpful for having emotional paintings around your sim’s home for when you want them to feel a specific type of way. However, having this ability won’t do too much for your sim long term.
Stages of the Aspiration
Level One: III at Easel
- Paint for 5 Hours
- Start 3 Paintings While Inspired
Becoming inspired with your sim is rather easy, and can be done easily by taking a thoughtful shower. Then you just need to start 3 paintings, not complete them while feeling inspired.
Chances are your sim won’t make it through all 3 paintings before the inspired moodlet goes away, but they can take another thoughtful shower and start another.
You could also get inspired in other ways, we have a guide to emotionsthat will tell you how to get your sim feeling all the different emotions!
Level Two: Fine Artist
- Reach Painting Level 4
- Sell 3 Paintings to Collectors or the Art Gallery
- Complete 3 Emotional Paintings
The first part, to reach painting level 4 is self explanatory. Just keep painting and your sim will get there in no time.
Next, when your sim finishes a painting you can click on it and choose to sell it. If you’re part of the painter career you’ll unlock both the collector and the art gallery option. However, you only need one available so this isn’t necessary.
Finally, you need to complete 3 emotional paintings. Emotional paintings include things like flirty paintings, sad paintings, angry paintings, etc.
You can get your sim to take a steamy shower to get flirty, get them to ponder moves on the chess table to get focused for a focused painting, etc. You can create the same type of painting over and over you just need to create it 3 separate times.
Level Three: Brushing with Greatness
- Reach Painting Level 6
- Complete 10 Excellent Paintings
- View or Admire 3 Paintings at a Museum
Your sim now needs to focus on the quality of their paintings. They will naturally create better paintings as they level up their painting skill.
You can purchase the creative visionary reward store trait with the different satisfaction points your sim has gotten so far! This reward trait is going to make your sim more likely to create higher quality paintings!
When you’re at level 6 or higher of the painting skill, chances are your sim will be creating mostly excellent paintings anyway, so this shouldn’t take long. Plus, you can sell the paintings and make all that money.
To view or admire paintings at the museum, you just need to head over to the museum and click on different pieces of art and choose view. Your sim will stand in front of the paintings for a few minutes, then move on to the next one.
Level Four: Painter Extraordinaire
- Reach Painting Level 10
- Complete 5 Masterpieces
Reaching painting level 10 is pretty easy if you’re constantly working on paintings, but creating masterpieces can take a bit of time.
You should make sure that your sim is feeling inspired, their needs are high, and they have a high painting skill. This should get your sim to create masterpieces often!
If you’re working through the painter career, you can get awesome career bonuses that can help you create higher quality paintings. There are easel unlocks in both branches that can be seriously helpful to this aspiration.
Are you ready for your sim to become a painter extraordinaire? I bet they’re ready! Let us know in the comments below how you feel about this aspiration.© Provided by Extra Time Media the sims 4 how to rotate objects furniture

The Sims 4, the fourth instalment of the popular life simulation franchise, was first released in 2015. One of the game’s appeals is the building aspect. Whether you want to create the blueprints for your dream home or copy the one you’re living in, it’s a boon for builders.
But if you’re new to the game, or building isn’t your thing and you’re just trying to tweak something, you might wonder how to rotate objects in The Sims 4. In fact, that question as well as “how to rotate furniture” in The Sims 4 is one of the most popular questions people ask the internet. Well, wonder no more. We’ve put together a quick guide on how to rotate objects in The Sims 4 to help novice builders get to grips with the game’s controls.
How to rotate objects and furniture in The Sims 4
We’re assuming that you know in order to rotate objects in The Sims 4, you need to be in build mode. There are some draggable objects which you can move around in live mode and the same rules will apply to them.
The game has two different camera views and how you rotate furniture in The Sims 4 might be impacted slightly depending on which camera you are using.
To see which camera view you’re on, look in the top right corner of your screen and click on the camera like in the screenshot below.© Provided by Extra Time Media the sims 4 how to rotate objects furniture (8)
Rotating objects in The Sims 4 using your keyboard
Rotating furniture in The Sims 4 is easy. Just click on the object once you’re in build mode and use the < key for left and > for right. This will work on both The Sims 4 camera view and The Sims 3 camera view.

It will also apply to rotating entire rooms – that is possible by selecting the whole room in the same way you select an object, but that’s a tutorial for another day. You can see a brief view of how this will look with The Sims 3 camera view on below. For rooms, you can also use the little rotation arrows that appear once you select a room.© Provided by Extra Time Media the sims 4 how to rotate objects furniture (1)
How to rotate objects in The Sims 4 with your mouse
Here’s where things get tricky. And we suspect this is why “how to rotate objects in The Sims 4” is such a popular question. In The Sims 4, you can only use your mouse to rotate furniture and objects if you are using The Sims 4 camera view.
If you’re using The Sims 4 camera view, you can rotate objects by selecting the object and then right-clicking with your mouse while you are holding them. Be careful, though, if you move the mouse while clicking and you have an object selected, you might end up rotating the camera view, too. You can see the camera showing rotating arrows in the screenshot below.
It won’t have much on an impact on rotating objects in The Sims 4, though. Just hold the mouse still and you should be back to where you started.© Provided by Extra Time Media the sims 4 how to rotate objects furniture (1)

If you are using The Sims 3 camera view, however, you won’t be able to rotate objects in The Sims 4 with your mouse using the right-click method. If you select an object and try to rotate it using the right-click method, you’ll end up just moving your view and the object around. Nothing will rotate.
This can be a source of great frustration if you have a keyboard that’s not working so well – or you’re playing without a keyboard completely. But if you’ve been wondering how to rotate objects in The Sims 4 and you keep getting stuck here, we hope this guide has helped.
